Ingelvac M hyo in comparison with the two-shot vaccine

Parameters such as average daily gain (ADG) and lung health are particularly suited to evaluation of efficacy in terms of state of health. A large-scale trial was conducted in the USA where 228 finishing barns each with 1,150 finisher pigs participated in the trial. The pigs were vaccinated with the new one-shot depot vaccine . An additional 227 finishing barns served as unvaccinated controls. Each group consisted of 260,000 animals.

The following diagram shows that the vaccinated animals had an ADG which was 25 g higher than that of the animals in the unvaccinated control group. Use of the single-dose vaccine also resulted in a significant improvement in both exit weight and feed conversion, as well as in decreased losses.

A study conducted in Germany compared the efficacy of the one-shot depot vaccine with that of the leading two-shot mycoplasma vaccine . The single-dose vaccine was administered to the piglets at three weeks of age; the two-shot vaccine was administered at five days and three weeks of age. The lung lesion score at slaughter was the benchmark for comparison.
Both vaccination regimens led to a significant reduction in lung disease compared to the unvaccinated control group. There was no significant difference between the two vaccination methods.

Ingelvac M hyo triggers both the quick antibody response and the specific, cell-mediated immune responses that are particularly important with Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.

Ingelvac M hyo offers the same efficacy in protection from the consequences of a mycoplasma infection as conventional two-shot mycoplasma vaccines.
