The adjuvant system in Ingelvac M hyo - ImpranŽ - is based on a water in biodegradable, non-mineral, oil emulsion. This emulsion is well tolerated carrying a smaller user risk following self injection than mineral oils frequently used in other vaccines.
The structure of the adjuvant system means antigen is released immediately from the oil but then, over a more prolonged period, from the water as the emulsion breaks down. This means that vaccine stimulates the immune system over time so mimicking conventional two shot vaccine regimes.
This clever structure of the ImpranŽ adjuvant system means that Ingelvac M hyo has a higher viscosity when cold than many other vaccines. However, when warmed to body temperature immediately prior to injection, as is required by good vaccination practice, vaccination is straightforward. |
