FAQ |
When is the best time to vaccinate with a depot one-shot vaccine? |
The optimum time of vaccination for all mycoplasma vaccines is once passive immunity from maternal antibodies has decreased, and before onset of an infection. Infections do not usually occur before the piglets are eight to nine weeks of age. As it takes three to four weeks from the time of vaccination to develop fully effective vaccine protection, the one-shot depot vaccine should be administered around weaning. Adhering to these criteria ensures optimum efficacy of the mycoplasma vaccine is obtained. |
