The vaccine must be administered at the correct dosage for the pigs to achieve optimum vaccine protection. With single-dose vaccination, administer a 2 ml dose by intramuscular injection in the neck.
The high oil content of the depot vaccine means it is very viscous when stored at a cool temperature. The vaccine should therefore be warmed to body temperature prior to use, e.g. by placing it in lukewarm water or by standing at room temperature overnight. Excessive heat must be avoided (max. 37°C), as this may impair the vaccine's efficacy. |
